The blueprints suggest an ideal order of installation and adoption.
You can follow the suggested order or adjust to fit your needs.

4. What other capabilities in Admin center are useful from Instance management perspective?
Within the Admin Home you would notice lot of useful information in the form of widgets. The perticularly useful section from my perspective is - "Get information about your instance".
This is a one stop easy way for the Admins to review the status of instance.
