Life Cycle values for Consumable Assets

How do you map a consumable asset with the new Life Cycle Stage and status?

There is no OOB value for a consumable asset when it has been consumed by either a user or an asset.
The legacy state was"consumed"

The OOB life cycle mapping record is inactive and you have to choose a life cycle control, but the value "consumed" does not exist.
When using hardware asset management you consume a consumable and that creates a record for cost management and other tracking. That record has the state "Consumed"

Hi @Damhoej

There is no Consumed Stage / Status. The closest on the Asset table is Operational / In Use. That is the status for a consumable asset that has been consumed. The Life Cycle tables are locked down so you won't be able to create new entries, nor can you edit existing ones.

I hope this helps!

Mat

i know there is no stage/status for consumed and I am wondering if they have forgotten consumables in the asset life cycle.
@Mark Bodman can you enlighten us?

Good day Damhoei,

From an IT point of view it would be:
Operational
In Use / In Maintenance / Pending Retirement

BR,
Barry

But when will it be retired?
When you consume a consumable it is written off finacially, and you do not track the item.

If you set the status to pending retirement I would expect that at some point in the future the item will be retired..
I think we just need the status "Consumed" that means the same as retired
