Life Cycle values for Consumable Assets

How do you map a consumable asset with the new Life Cycle Stage and status?

There is no OOB value for a consumable asset when it has been consumed by either a user or an asset.
The legacy state was"consumed"

The OOB life cycle mapping record is inactive and you have to choose a life cycle control, but the value "consumed" does not exist.
When using hardware asset management you consume a consumable and that creates a record for cost management and other tracking. That record has the state "Consumed"

When returned/revoked the life cycle will be:
End of Life
Retired

I see the logic, however how do you find out that the item has been returned. It is not tracked individually.

A memory stick that is consumed by an department will not be returned.
Off course I can set a time limit before I retire any consumable, but IMO you should deal with the issue when you hand out the item to a user (or another asset).
That is how it works in the application when you select "Consume"

Same question here. Some consumables are just thrown away at end of life and aren't tracked or discovered, but we want to keep the consumable for financial tracking.

I am now using the "End of Life - Disposed" for consumed consumables.
Because as you say we still want to know the financial information when we consume the consumable.
