System Roles for Full CSDM Management

Hello. I'm looking to create a user group with roles assigned that would give users editing/admin access to all the domains and options in the CSDM menu (below), but I'm having trouble finding which system roles would provide access to all of it.

This group is meant for users who are responsible for developing the overall CSDM and assisting the individual contributors and/or product owners for each domain.

Does anyone know the appropriate roles needed for access to the below tables/menu options, without giving admin access?

  • CSDM
    • Application Service Settings
    • Application Service Dashboard
    • Lifecycle Mapping
    • Design
      • Business process
      • Business Capability
      • Business Application
      • Information Object
    • Manage Technical Services
      • Application services
      • Technical Service Offering
      • Technical Service
      • Technology Request Catalog
    • Sell and Consume
      • Business Service Portfolio
      • Business Service Offering
      • Business Service
      • Business Request Catalog

Thank you!

Hi @Stig Brandt ,

This is strange. I don't find this role in the Instance nor in my PDI.

Hi

I think you need to raise a ticket to ServiceNow.

sn_apm roles is installed with APM - Application Portfolio Management, you can try this in your PDI.

Hi Nicole,

The roles required for this access are determined by the settings of the individual modules: go to System Definition –> Modules –> set Filter: Application menu = CSDM –> and check the column Roles. See the screenshot:

However, the application menu CSDM is by default accessible only for an admin role. Therefore adding all of these roles to your user group wouldn't be sufficient. In addition, you must go to the System Definition –> Application menu –> set Filter: Title = CSDM –> open the record and update attribute Roles by adding there all of these roles needed for individual modules.

If you find my answer helpful or correct, please mark it accordingly.
