What is the best way to manage business applications which are on trial basis

What best practice being followed in order to store business applications that are in trial mode, they are not in production yet they are only being trialed for now.

I couldnt find any life cycle stage and life cycle status that closely meets this requirement, hence seeking guidance on how to proceed with this.

I would use the Life Cycle Stage:
Ideation
with an Life Cycle Stage Status of:
Pilot
or 
Under evaluation

I appreciate your input, @Barry Kant  Upon examining CSDM v5, I concurred with your recommendation to employ the life cycle stage as "Ideation" and one of the two life cycle stages. I aimed to obtain community validation to strengthen this line of thinking.

My PoV is client is not aware of this terminology hence may ask to create a custom life cycle state to meet this requirement, also does trial fall under Ideation or design ?
