When and How Do We Receive Our Community Badges?

Hi all,

A quick question for the long-time community members, 

When do badges like Hacktoberfest, Community Week, BuildWith, etc. usually get awarded or issued? Is there any typical timeline you can share?

Also, do we receive these badges via email notifications, or directly as notifications on the Community platform?

That's a hard one! How long is a piece of string?

I attended Knowledge 2024 in May '24 and a badge for that appeared on my profile in Aug 2025!

It's not typically that long, but it can can take anywhere from weeks to months.

I don't think you typically get a notification - like an email - the badges just appear on your profile. 

If you've waited ages and you think there might be a problem, no harm in contacting support through the SN University portal. They might be able to help.

Received BuildWithBuildAgent on 19-12-2025 (completed on 24-11-2025)

BuildWithBuildAgent badge was quickly awarded in a month time

Received Hacktoberfest badge (2025) on 17-02-2026 (completed on 31-10-2025)

Initially missed out on badge but reached to event organizers and they resolved problem quickly in 4 days really appreciate the quick support!.

If anyone has missed out on any participant badges, the best approach is to reach out to event/challenge organizers.
