Best practice for onboarding order guide

So we had issues before where we use the same catalog item for an onboarding order guide.  Issue with with that is when techs goes in the list view to see the task it all shows up the same.  Would it be better if I created 2 catalog items?  For example lets use request for laptop.  So one would be request for laptop and the other would be Onboard Request for laptop.  What's is best practice and if anyone has done something different please share.  Thanks in advance.

Without adding a variable that has a different value for order guides/stand alone there isn't a way to change what filters in the list view. The RITMs will show the same regardless of where they originated from without a variable to differentiate them. Without doing something like that, you'd have to separate them out.

If the questions differ between the two laptop catalog items (as an example), or the workflow for each item is different, then yes I would say having two items is the better way to go. Also if you want to cascade your order guide's variables to it's related catalog items then again, use a separate item so you can name the variables that're being cascaded to accordingly.
