I am working to design the knowledge article review process. Can someone help me with the best practice of review process?
We have a lot of document which is not having up to date information. So we decided to put 3 months validity date. After 3 months when it gets expire, we will ask the Author to update/review the document(through workflow) otherwise it will be retired.
Is there anyone out who is using review process something like this? I want to know the best practice of knowledge review.

We also require our authors to review, however we typically only require the review once per year.
We allow the author to define an expiration date, up to 1 year in the future. They could choose an expiration date sooner than that, but not later.
We send a notification to the author 30 days prior to the expiration date to remind them of the pending expiration.
The appropriate frequency of reviews for your organization would be a judgment call based upon how often the information is likely to change, how critical the written knowledge document is to your operations, and how well your organization organically keeps up with knowledge management outside of a mandatory review process.
