The Wrong approver is being marked as the one who approved after email is sent in.

So set up a Change notification for group adminstration, email goes out and the approval links work as far as moving the item to the next stage of the workflow,  this was a task in and of itself but ALMOST everything works as intended.  The only problem i've discovered today is that the wrong approver is marked as having approved the change,  So for example, if the reply comes from my outlook,  the Request is approved but instead of saying I was the approver,  another admin is marked instead.

 

I have no clue where to look to find the solution for this, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've noticed this before but I wouldn't say it's the wrong. I've seen in the approval related list that the approval goes out to person X but they have a delegate that approves it. In the related list it shows person X but if you open the approval it will show who actually approved it. Once the approval goes out to person X it can't update to who actually approved it. You might have a case where you are sending it to individual people instead of a group and when the other approver approves it, the record looks like you approved it. Just a thought.

I've got the notification set to go out to a group of managers,

When I send in the the approval reply

and go to the RITM, it shows its approved and in the next stage of the workflow, when i go to the Approvers tab, The wrong member of the group is selected as "approved" with everyone else saying "No longer required"

 

So the problem is that , if this goes to PROD its going to cause some confusion as to who actually approved a group add/rejection

if you open the actual approval does it show the other person approved it? if they approved via email it should have a copy of the email that approved it. 

could someone else be beating you to the bunch and approving it before you are?
