ESC Portal - My Approvals doesn't show RITMs waiting to be approved

In the ESC Portal, My approvals is under My Tasks. We are seeing approvals for other requested items in sysapproval_approver table, but the RITM ones are not showing up under My Tasks.  I'm looking in the To-dos Configuration but can't figure it out. Help!

I'm having the same general issue, but there are NO approvals of any kind.

In the sub-production (Dev/Test) instances, approvals are displayed in My Tasks in the portal without requiring the approver_user role. However, in the Production environment, users must have the approver_user role to see items in My Tasks.

I came here for the same question, since I'm having the problem in my Dev instance. And I added the role to the user account I was testing with, and suddenly a tonne of items pending approvals showed up.

 

This seems strange as the role description says 

The role required by Approver users. Approver users can modify requests for approval routed to them. They also have all capabilities of Requesters. Note there is a fee associated with this role. Do not assign it to users without confirming your organization has the appropriate entitlement.



But, anybody can be requested to approve something. How do I avoid adding a costed role to someone but enable to approve on the portal?

Please add : approver_user role to the respective user and they can start seeing Tasks.
