I teach the GRC courses and I get this question a lot and some of the answers are the same for all the exams. The common answers are:
- Review the exam blueprint (How to get to this is at the end of this article)
- READ the book - both the slides and the text under the slides
- Form a study group
- different participants take different modules and create multiple choice questions - and then share
- Search the internet for test exams - BUT use these with caution. ServiceNow has not vetted the answers they have provided.
- My recommendation is to use these for the questions, but then go find the answer either in the book or in the Product Docs. DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE ANSWER ON THE INTERNET IS VALID!
- Frequently you can't tell what version was used to write the question.
Of these options, #3 is the most difficult for people that aren't in a company where multiple people are trying to study for the exam. So, I just had an idea that may help you help yourselves. What if we created virtual study group-like situations? Please read the following idea and let me know in feedback if you would participate and if you think this would be helpful.
- This GRC Forum has a sub-forum called Training: Governance, Risk and Compliance - we could use that one for this purpose. You do have to be logged into the Community to see the sub-forums. They are listed on the right-hand side of the page.
- What we (meaning you) would do in this forum is to create questions based on the modules in the book.
- The question (title) would be the question to answer.
- In the description we would offer choices for the answer: A. B. C.D. etc
- Be sure in the description to state whether there is one answer or multiple.
- Do not put the answer in the description.
- Put the correct answer in the reply along with a reference to find the answer - either in product docs or a page number from the book. (This assumes you have taken the course.)
- These could serve as flashcards as you are studying for the exam.
What do you think? Would this be useful? If so, I will kick-start it in the near future.
Also, what other ideas do you have for studying for one of these exams?
How to find the exam blueprint
- Exam blueprints can be found in Now Learning
- If you want to see the entire learning Path for all certifications - the most recent version can be found at this link:
- Search for Risk and Compliance Implementer Path - there is a page that lays out the entire path and all the courses.
- One of the items on the path will be the Certification - click it (see screen shot below)
- In the main window you will see buttons for:
- Certification Blueprint
- Certification FAQ
- Register For Exam

Sounds interesting Jan...
Should consider the blueprint as it will determine the % of each area; personally I found the course material to be the best source.
I do see a few questions in exams/deltas where the question or answer is spurious (I normally report feedback so have no examples to hand)...
Aren't there already some training groups setup?
