Indoor Mapping for Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)

 

ServiceNow is excited to introduce Indoor Mapping in the November ServiceNow store release. This is an enhancement to the current hardware and enterprise location data model. Indoor mapping allows for granular location tracking based on longitude and latitude coordinates to visualize asset location on a floor map. There are three main components:

 

  1. An interactive floor map which enables viewing the granular location of each asset within a specific floor or place.
  2. A location space hierarchy based on four different levels: campus, building, floor, and places.
  3. The application of new space data model will upgrade existing workflows that rely on the current location field.

Our customers can benefit from indoor maps in several different ways. Asset managers responsible for multiple offices can monitor assets even at locations they physically aren’t at, saving time and resources. Viewing the granular location of assets can also save customers valuable time spent looking for assets and even prevent asset loss or theft.
