Hardware Asset Management - Demo

Dear HAM experts,

I have a requirement to showcase the following HAM capabilities to the customer: (The HAM plugin [sn_hamp] is already installed on the demo instance)

• Asset management lifecycle.
• Hardware Asset Normalization
• Asset Workspace - Reports, Dashboards.

Please guide how I can demo the above with minimal data set.

The easiest way is to pick a model that has lifecycle information. 

1. Pick any model with lifecycle information within SN such as "MYDA2LL/A" which represent Apple Macbook Pro 13
2. Show creating a model where MFG is Apple,  Name is Macbook, dont enter a model number and hit save.
3. Show Normalization tab of the model being partial normalized
4. Enter Model Number is MYDA2LL/A and hit save
5. Show Normalization tab of model being normalized and display name updated with normalized values
6. Navigate to "Hardware Model Lifecycle" related list and show GA and EOS are both automatically pulled in
7. Now repeat the process, but with name as Macbook Pro 13, Macbook Pro, or any unique name. Show that all of these will be normalized to the same display name based on the normalized value
8. Explain how different discovery sources may set the name of the model slightly differently and normalization updates each model to have the same display name

As for reporting, if this is your demo instance then might as well "Load Demo Data" from plugin. Should be an option in your plugin management page.
