Hello Everyone, can anyone share the importance of using Hardware Model normalisation or content service library while implementing HAM module for a customer.

Normalization helps to standardize naming of hardware assets.  there will be uniform way of naming a particular product/model. this can be achieved through the product model number. 

eg: Dell_latitiude  and delllattidue will be updated to a standard format like Dell Lattitude 

when u have a uniformity in naming the assets, it will help while creating reports etc.  all the products for a particular model will be grouped under one standard name, rather than showing multiple products for the same asset type.

It's a crucial part when implementing HAM module.

Here are the benefits:
- provides consistent data for reporting

- avoids duplicating Model entries

- no need for manually cleaning up the data

- fills empty fields (like Manufacturer, after providing correct Model Number)

- provides standardized data which is constantly updated (Content Service)
