As I understand it, the Compatibles tab on a hardware model is meant to be used to link other models to a particular hardware model that are able to be used with that model. For example, let's say i have a specific laptop model and want to show a list of "compatible" hard drive models I would include those hard drive models in the list of compatibles for the laptop.
The issue I'm facing is that when you try to click on the Add Compatible button, it only allows selection of other hardware models, not other types of models like consumable models. When i look at the m2m table that gets populated when you add a model, the reference fields both point to cmdb_model (All models) but there is a reference qualifier restricting selection of a compatible to only cmdb_hardware_product_model.
Does anyone know the reason for this reference qualifier? Is there any reason we couldn't remove it and allow consumable models to be tied to a hardware model as a compatible?
