Hi,
I am looking at Mobile devices being loaded into Asset using the "Mobile Devices" category, but OOTB this will not create a CI:
Secondly I know that the SG Intune connector will create Mobile Device CIs in the "cmdb_ci_handheld_computing" CI Class. I assume it will use appropriate Models as per any models listed in as a Mobile Device category.
The problem I have is that this means I will get Mobile Devices in the CMDB and also in Asset DB, but they are in no way linked.
I was going to amend the Model Category to add in the CI Class, but this is not possible:
My questions are:
1. Has anyone achieved this?
2. How is this meant to work OOTB between Intune/Airwatch and Asset DB?
Any help or experience would be grateful.
Alec

Hi @Alec Hanson ,
we faced the same issue. Unfortunately OOTB there is no model category which maps to Handheld Computing.
ServiceNow noticed this and provides KB1633812 with instructions. We will therefore create a new model category "Mobile Devices" and rename the old one. Then we will have to update all assets and hardware models to change the model category and reclassify the existing CIs via scripts, then we will activate the Intune SGC.
