Model Category Field Empty for All Asset Classes (alm_hardware, alm_license, alm_consumable)

Hello Community,

I’m facing an issue in my ServiceNow instance where the Model  field is showing as empty across all asset classes – including alm_hardware, alm_license, and alm_consumable.

When I create or save a new asset record, the Model Category is not being populated automatically or manually. This issue is not limited to just alm_hardware, but happens for all assets.

What I’ve Verified:

  • The model  field is a reference to the cmdb_model table.

  • Valid model category records exist for all asset classes with correct values.

  • No errors appear in the browser console or network tab while saving the form.

Actual Behavior:

  • The Model  field remains blank even after save.

Request:

Has anyone else faced this issue? Any suggestions on what might be causing it, or how I can troubleshoot further?

Hi @asadmansoor
Check if you can see the model value of the asset record  using 'Show XML' feature.
If you are able to see the sys_id/value, then check the "Display" field on the cmdb_model table.
