Hello friends,
We are working to build the dashboard to correctly reflect the lifecycle status of owned hardware models so that proper action is taken. For this lifecycle information, we are dependent on ServiceNow's content service.
But do we know for sure or how can i verify that ServiceNow provides the lifecycle information for all the assets/hardware models sourced.
Let me know, thanks in advance !

No, ServiceNow does not provide lifecycle information for all hardware models via the Content Library.
- The Hardware Content Library (used by Hardware Asset Management) normalizes manufacturer/model data and populates important life cycle dates (e.g., End of Life, End of Support) only for the models it contains.
- It is described as "extensive" — not exhaustive/complete for every possible hardware model in existence.
How to verify coverage for your sourced hardware models
- Navigate to Hardware Asset Workspace → check Normalization status (or the Hardware Model list).
- Open the Hardware Model [cmdb_hardware_model] table and filter for your owned models. Look for populated lifecycle fields (e.g., end_of_life, end_of_support, end_of_extended_support dates). If blank → the model is not covered by the current Content Library.
- Use the Hardware Asset Overview dashboard or run a report on models with missing lifecycle dates.
What to do if lifecycle data is missing
- Submit an IT Asset Management content request (ServiceNow → IT Asset Management → Content Request) to ask the Content Service team to add it.
- You can manually maintain lifecycle dates on the Hardware Model form until the library is updated.
