Use of asset role in ITAM

Hi all, 

I would like to know if using 'itil' role instead of 'asset' is ok to do.

The reason for this is because there are some roles which are inherited by asset role which we do not want the user to do.

HI @jnt-cnt ,

"asset " role allows you to create, edit, manage, and delete the hardware and consumables and used particularly for HAM.

Now ITAM has SAM and HAM both.

What are the roles and it's use:

For SAM (Software Asset Management), These are the roles that you need to work with SAM Tables:-

  1. sam_user - This is the very basic role that you can have to access all SAM features except administrations.
  2. sam_admin - This is the fully fledged role to work on any of the functionalities that SAM offers.
  3. sam_developer - This role contains sam_admin and allows you write Scripts with all the priviledges that you got with sam_admin role.

 

For HAM (Hardware Asset Management), These are the roles that you need to work with HAM Tables:-

  1. asset - This role allows you to create, edit, manage, and delete the hardware and consumables.
  2. inventory_admin - It allows you to create, edit, manage, and delete Stockrooms.
  3. Procurement_user - It allows you to create Purchase Orders, view Transfer orders and etc.
  4. catalog_admin - It allows you to create, edit, and manage the Service Catalogs.
  5. ham_admin - This role will work or visible only when you have HAM Application installed in an environment.
