My understanding was that there was Asset and HAM Admin but on the list of roles for Zurich I saw HAM User. When was this implemented and what is the difference in the role from the asset role?

Hello,
The HAM User role was introduced as part of ServiceNow's Hardware Asset Management (HAM) application to provide more granular access. The HAM application debuted in Paris release (Sep 2020), and the HAM User role became more prominent in later releases like Quebec (Q3 2021).
Difference between HAM User and Asset roles:
Asset Role: Full access to all assets (CRUD) across hardware and consumables. Ideal for Asset Managers or IT Admins.
HAM User Role: Restricted access focused on hardware assets. Users can view, update, and manage assigned assets, but not delete or modify system-critical settings. Ideal for technicians or departmental coordinators.
Summary: Asset role = admin with broad powers; HAM User = operator with targeted permissions, ensuring security and least privilege.
Thanks & Regards,

They cannot delete assets with HAM User? And they can only change ones that are assigned to them?
