how to capture roles in update sets

As per my understanding, Roles are not captured in the update sets.

Hi
Any Data such as Users, Roles, Groups etc are not captured in update set so you need to Export them in XML and import in next instance using Import XML functionality.
Hint - You can import the xml on any list ServiceNow is very smart to understand where it need to insert records.

Hi Prasanna,
When Roles are created, modified, or deleted these get captured in an update set.
Adding any role or removing a role from users is not captured.
For moving user roles you can use Import/Export functionality.
