What is the sn_hr_sp.admin role?

Hi, All.

ServiceNow has the 'sn_hr_sp.admin' role.
What should this role be used for?
I would also like to know how it differs from the 'sn_hr_sp.esc_admin' role.

Thank you for your help.

  • sn_hr_sp.admin:  Administrator in the HR Service Portal application scope (now the Employee Center and Employee Center Core application scopes)
  • sn_hr_sp.esc_admin:  Administrator for the ESC portal (i.e., can configure/build ESC) within the the HR Service Portal application scope.  These are now the EC portal and EC application scopes.

As mentioned by @Sandeep Dutta, the sn_hr_sp.esc_admin role contains the sn_hr_sp.admin role, so if this has not been changed from OOB, any user with the esc_admin role has full admin rights with the EC application scope.  They can configure the EC portal.

HI

the sn_hr_sp.admin is used for  Human Resources Scoped App: Service Portal after that Servicenow came up with Employee Center Portal and this application handles sn_hr_sp.esc_admin role . That's the difference.

The sn_hr_sp.esc_admin role will contain sn_hr_sp.admin  role as well to manage Employee Service Centre Admin application.

you may check the document below

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/paris-hr-service-delivery/page/product/human-resources/reference/components-installed-with-employee-service-center.html

Hi @Shiori ,

The sn_hr_sp.esc_admin is a scoped role . Edit is only available when you are in the scope of the role but you can only modify the sn_hr_sp.esc_admin role when you are in the 'Human Resources: Service Portal' scope.

sn_hr_sp.esc_admin contains the following roles:

  • sn_hr_sp.admin
  • sp_admin
  • catalog_admin

Mark my answer correct & Helpful, if Applicable.

Thanks,
Sandeep
