Can anyone provide some notes/feedback on creating custom CI attributes in windows server table.

If no OOTB attributes fulfill your need then go for Custom Attribute
if Custome Attribute Cuts across more than one CI class then make that in Parent Class. Let say in ur case if Custom Attribute is needed in Both Windows and Linux Server class then add attribute in its Parent Class - CMDB_CI_SERVER .
There is no harm in creating custom attribute if Business Need and use case it covers is strong.

1) go to CI class manager and click on hierarchy. look for class name and click on it. You will see attribute in it. It will have three section All, derived, added. you can add one in last column.
