Yes, Business Applications do come under Service Mapping in ServiceNow.
Here's how:
- Service Mapping is a ServiceNow application that discovers all business services in your organization and builds a comprehensive map of all devices, applications, and configuration profiles used in these business services.
- The main purpose of Service Mapping is to build a map of all critical business services, which can be anything that is delivered to an end user, including a Business Application.
- Business Applications are considered as a part of the service, and Service Mapping helps in understanding the dependencies and relationships of these applications with other components in the IT infrastructure.
- Service Mapping helps in identifying the impact of any infrastructure change on the Business Applications, thus aiding in efficient Change Management.
- It also helps in identifying the root cause of any issues in the Business Applications by tracing the issue to the underlying infrastructure component.
- Therefore, even if only Service Mapping is in scope, Business Applications are considered as a part of it.
Kindly mark it as Solution/Helpful.
