File extension error with any file being attached to a Case

Hello all,

Recently upgraded Non-Production Instance from Helsinki 9 to Istanbul 7 (with hot-fix). Before we upgraded the Non-Production, I had added a file extension to be blocked from being attached to a Case. The file extension was Winmail.dat - After the upgrade, we noticed no file no matter what type was being prohibited from being attached. I went to the System Properties > Security to check and see if something didn't carry over through the upgrade. However it was the exact same as Production Instance, minus the Winmail.dat extension I already blocked in Test portal.

As a test, I removed the Winmail.dat extension as being blocked, so that NO type of file was blocked. This change allowed me to attach a file to a Case - I then put the Winmail.dat extension back as being blocked, and I was unable to attache a file to a Case. So for now, I have removed that Winmail.dat file from being blocked, even though I was trying to attach a word doc or even just a screen shot. I thought this to be very odd.. Has anyone that knows Istanbul ever run into this type of issue? I want to be able to possibly, down the road, block certain extensions from being attached to a Case, and I know Winmail.dat usually just comes from Outlook emails - so figured it was an easy one to test with.

Hi Rob,

Have you tried just adding 'dat'? Winmail.dat is not an extension so much as a complete filename. Extension examples are gif, jpg, png, pdf

I only found the blacklist in the system, Did you find where the system can set the attachment whitelist?
