Group Types for Assignment Groups

Can someone provide a good use case for the purpose of group types, why should I create them and please provide some examples of your group types for your assignment groups. San Diego release provides the following OOB group types:

 

Agile Team
Approval
catalog
hr_vendors
human_resources
itil
Knowledge
schedule_visible_externally
schedule_visible_internally
survey

 

Provide suggestions on others that I can create and the purpose of each.

Hi,

It is used for categorization of groups. For instance, if there exists 10 groups in system you can use Group Type to differentiate its use.

For instance, hr_vendors, human_resources can be qualified to be HR related groups

Agie Team - can be for PPM group

itil - can be for IT groups & so-on
