Hi @rishabhnilk

A Record Producer is a specific type of catalog item that allows end users to create task-based records—such as incident records—directly from the Service Catalog.

For the best understanding, go to an OOTB (Out-of-the-Box) PDI. The Create Incident example is one of the most common Record Producers. In GRC, the Create Issue is another example.

So, in short—whenever you want to create a record like a Change, Problem, Knowledge Base Article, etc., through the catalog, you can use a Record Producer.

Service Category Request
Register a Business Application
Add network switch to datacenter cabinet
New LDAP Server
Reboot Windows Server
Create a new Content Template
Submit an Automation Request
Create automations to  track
Request Knowledge Base
Decommission local office Domain Controller
Penetration Testing Assessment Request
Change VLAN on a Cisco switchport
Create DevOps Application
Create a new Export Set
Set a delegate for a direct report
Create DevOps tool
Clear BGP sessions on a Cisco router
Replace printer toner
Password Reset Extension Script
Propose a new Standard Change Template
Modify a Standard Change Template
Retire a Standard Change Template
Grant role delegation rights within a group
Server Reboot
Ask a Question
