Hello All,

I am working on a proposal to implement ITSM module for a customer. I am a developer, didnt had prior exp on proposals and effort estimation. I wanted to know how long will it take to setup the ITSM modules in to the Customer's instance by following the ITSM guided setup.

What could be the FTE?

How many Man hours?

 Things i should consider ...

Kindly help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Andy,

ITSM as you know is a broad concept but I suggest focusing on the 4 ServiceNow apps that support ITSM processes:

  • Service Catalog
  • Change Management
  • Incident Management
  • Problem Management

Time estimate is hard to define but as an indication the following is usual time frame for scoping alone. This is time required for workshops (i.e 2 days is 2 8hr business workshops) and will usually involve the Technical consultant requiring time after each workshop to work with a business analyst to document stores for each development (4hrs per workshop day).

Incident Management

  • Process implementation workshop - 2 Days

Problem Management

  • Process implementation workshop - 1 Day

Change Management

  • Process implementation workshop - 3 Days

Service Catalog & Request Management

  • Process implementation workshop - 2 Days

Once you have your scoping, you'll have an understanding of build and testing time.

The Now-Creators site has a an absolute ton of details which you'll fine useful
