With the Now Platform® Utah release, we continued to invest in our mobile platform with a focus on creating engaging user experiences and unlocking new use cases that allow our distributed workforce to be more productive.
Here's what's coming for ServiceNow mobile in Utah's release: (Watch the recording for 'Whats new for mobile in Utah' webinar)
Enhanced online to offline mode transitions
As an ongoing effort to provide the best-in-class experience for our field service teams, ServiceNow Mobile Agent has introduced a more seamless transition into offline mode to minimize work disruptions. When offline mode is enabled and the internet connection is lost, ServiceNow® Mobile Agent app now automatically switches to offline mode. While switching, users retain their place in the app and can continue without losing the changes made. When the app transitions back from offline to online mode, the original cache is retained and updated with all the successfully synced changes made by the user while in offline mode.
Next Experience for Mobile
To better support Next Experience enhancements for mobile, we've unified base system theming between mobile and web-based UI experiences. Mobile theming will automatically inherit theme colors from Next Experience so there is a consistent and unified theming experience across the platform. We've also provided additional administrative controls for the admins to theme specific components on the mobile app.
Changing between multiple instances on a single mobile deviceUse multiple
A long time requested feature by ServiceNow admins and developers -- enabling users to quickly change instances without the need to log out and log in. This capability enables the user to use deep links to change instances without logging out, and to receive cross instance notifications from all logged-in instances. This also enables a frictionless method for users with multiple instances to work without re-logging in.
