With the Now Platform® Vancouver release, we continue to invest in our mobile platform with some of our top initiatives focused on:

  • improving developer tools for admins to maximize their value with the platform
  • creating omni-channel ServiceNow experiences that are consistent between web and mobile
  • meeting market expectations for app performance improvements and scale

Here's what's coming for ServiceNow mobile in Vancouver release:

Next Experience Dark Theme Support
Switch between light and dark theme variants in ServiceNow®applications. These theming variants will offer a consistent look and feel across both platform and mobile.

Mobile App Bridge Playbook support

Enable hybrid experiences with support for embeddable web playbooks within the ServiceNow mobile apps. This provides richer UX to help users visualize the entire lifecycle of a workflow -- and also offers better support for Cabrillo in UI Builder which is a commonly a preferred tool for developing ServiceNow web pages.

Setting Languages in the ServiceNow mobile apps
Localization is an essential aspect of optimal user experience and so we've further simplified the localization experience for the end user by moving all of the localization settings into a single screen. Often, end users forget that in order to change the language of their app, it is required to change the language of their entire mobile device (i.e Apple or Android settings), and so we made it easier for end user to easily select their preferred language from within their ServiceNow mobile apps settings.

Enhanced Calendar Screen for mobile

The following improvements have been made to improve calendar performance on mobile:

  • Improved data-load performance due to seamless pagination support.
  • Enhanced UX design supporting enhancements such as defining the first day of the week, expanding the filter search, and saving favorite filters.
  • Updated events list, enabling you to scroll and explore your events more intuitively. View events up to three years earlier or later than the current date.
  • Ability to see the agenda instantly for each day as you scroll through the calendar screen.
  • Offline support, where you can create, edit, or delete events. These changes are incorporated when you go back online.
  • Improved visual enhancements such as a numerical indicator for the number of events within a day, and indicators for all-day and multi-day events.
  • Full landscape support for mobile, iPad, and tablet devices.
  • Alignment in the area of accessibility for text readout, text resizing, and focus order within the calendar screen.
  • Addition of a quick action button to add new events to the calendar instantly.

Support of right-to-left languages
The display of right-to-left languages is now supported in ServiceNow mobile apps. Texts as well as visual components are right-to-left aligned to mirror the more common left-to-right alignment. Hebrew will be the first RTL language that we support as of Vancouver.
