I was using Performance Analytics (Now Platform Analytics)

 

However I was unclear how each graph would be visualised, and what data it required and modifying them and re-saving etc proved time consuming. So hopefully this will save you time, as it did for me.

 

I will do a follow up, breaking down the requirements of each as the visualisation can redefine the data it requires (E.g. Time series graphs of course need a time stamp to place along the x-axis), but for now here are the most common graphs you'll likely use.

 

I've aimed to keep the data similar - Incidents and various field grouping based on that data (typically priority and impact).

 

Donut

Pie

Ideal for showing a percentage from a fixed range. E.g. Incidents, by priority or assignment group.
If your data isn't useful from a % view, it's better to use a Column chart or similar.

Semi Donut

List – Simple

Useful for viewing more advanced details, with custom columns. Best saved for 'more details' tabs.

Typically useful if location is a useful data point, such as where your incidents mostly come from.
