Thank you for joining us on September 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time for a dedicated live session where we answered your questions about Platform Analytics. This was a first-come, first-served opportunity, and we appreciated everyone who prepared their questions in advance.
We enjoyed engaging with you and helping you gain a deeper understanding of our product.
Live answered questions are below, questions answered via type are attached to the Community event below (Q&ATypedAnswers.xlsx)
Q1: Can we bind components like client state parameters in conditions of a data source table of a data visualization component, like a bar chart, where data is not defined manually? The current example JSON provided for a bar chart does not work for a stacked bar chart. Is there a way to create a stacked bar chart from the existing or modified JSON structure?

Q2: Are there additional plans to connect more with Process Mining? Until now, I have only been able to embed the workbench flow path of a process mining model and navigate within it. What would be helpful in addition: Root cause analysis insights from Process Mining. Saved transition filters as single score or list views in Platform Analytics. Being able to trigger the re-mining of the process mining model directly out of Platform analytics.

Q5: Can you share an update on what is happening with dynamic content blocks in the future? Is it still correct that they can be embedded in Platform analytics as iFrame? What if the dynamic content block acts as an interactive part/filter in the dashboard? Is this still supported? And what if I need to adjust something in the dynamic content block in the future? Will this be supported?

Q9: We have a business that is experiencing issues with updates to their dashboards, such as migrating to platform analytics, going to Yokohama upgrade, etc. We've found that a common root cause is that they have data visualizations in a scope that is different than the scope of the dashboard containing the data visualization. We tried to find documentation on best practices for this, but did not find much. Is it generally considered best practice to create data visualizations and dashboards in the same scope if the data visualization is intended to be added into said dashboard?

Q10: I'm preparing to migrate to Platform Analytics but I don't want to migrate reports that haven't been used in the last 6 months. However, I'm concerned that if I get rid of those reports, someone will come back and complain that it's needed for something that only happens every 7 months or something similar. Is there any way to disable/hide/deactivate unused reports and wait to see if anyone notices they aren't available (basically scream test it)? I'm looking for a method that would make it easy to reactive the report if needed. Any suggestions?

Q13: In the Core UI we have the ability to grab reports or indicators from the right margin. Is it possible this same functionality will be added to Platform Analytics in the future?

Q14: In Zurich, it's nice to have the option to toggle column operators, but it's annoying that they appear to be expanded by default on all list visualizations. Is there a feature/property that would allow us to un-expand column operators across the instance?

Q15: I like most things about the dashboard library list interface update in Zurich, but I am really concerned that the old Core UI dashboards suddenly are showing up in that last. It's really going to confuse our dashboard owners now that we have run a full migration to see "duplicates" of both their old core UI dashboards and their migrated dashboards in the same list. How can we hide the core UI dashboards from showing in the dashboard library list so they only see migrated dashboards, as is the case today on Yokohama?

Q16: We have a menu item which opens a Core UI report displaying the out of office calendar for the IT&S department. This menu item is configured as follow:
Q17: Apologies, but these were 2 questions, which got merged together. Gives a general idea. I appreciate your response. But this not clearly tell is we can bind dynamic components like client state parameters in static conditions of data source table of a data visualization component, like a bar chart where data is not defined manually? Can we have any demo in the upcoming sessions?

Q24: I have a visualization for a manager to see a summary of their team's time sheets. It works fine with the is Dynamic manager me filter. If I wanted to have this report email out to a group of managers on a scheduled basis, the dynamic option wont' work since it runs as system account. Is there a way to have a scheduled report use the recipients as a filter source or am I stuck making a copy for each manager?

Q25: Platform Analytics dashboard specific filter (saved in the library) on the dashboard missed in 2 cases:
Q29: Deleting a report from library breaks dashboard versions.. scenario: I built a base report and added it to the library to use as a template to create a dashboard. Got the multiple tab dash fully created with dozens of reports.. each tweaked with their own settings so they're now unique reports. When exiting edit mode, it prompts whether to only save to the dashboard or library. Saved to dashboard was only option chosen. This "should" save them as new free standing reports native only to the dash. Exiting edit mode, the entire dashboard is fine. I went back to delete the original report that i used as the template from the library... it broke every report on the dashboard. Going back into edit mode on the dash and trying to edit a report, it still thinks its in the library. Setting are still there, but it never functions. Messing with conditions and resaving doesn't recover the report.

Q30: I recently had a requirement to create a formula indicator line chart, aggregated with "by month max" "by week max" and "daily max". We weren't able to find a way to create this without a lot of tech debt. Are there any future considerations to include these maximum aggregates available from the data visualization configuration panel?

Q31: RE: User dropdown inconsistency. Improvements to export selection is great, but that doesn't answer the whole question. Why are the related user fields shown in previews inconsistent in every location (sharing versus req by / owner versus export versus double click on reference dropdowns)? Are there intentions to bring the behavior into consistency? If not, is there or can there be a system property where we can define as platform owners which 2-3 user data attributes we would like to have visible as helpful fields across all these places where user references/dropdowns exist?
