How do you share dashboards with external customers

HI we have reporting and PA enabled on a non-domain seperated instance with ACL in place. We have a number of PA dashboards that contain standard reports and PA reports. We can share these with people internally however some graphs do not display if the right role of the user is not given.

We now have a requirement to share these dashboards with external customers that are end user managers with no role on ServiceNow. This causes issues as we cant giver itil role to them to licence the view and if we did do that they may have acess to get the data they should not see.

We have looked into Power BU but the customer's operational teams also want real-time view form PA graphs.

Can someone advise if domain seperation will help here to create a pool of data per customer then grant access to this only and also share any experience?

HIGHLY recommend you look into VividCharts for this.  Its a 3rd party add-on specifically for story telling on ServiceNow.
In addition to spectacular visual layer that's way more presentable to your external customers, it also solves the problem of your dashboards being publicly accessible.

Whilst this is helpful I want to see how far you can go with Domain separation and platform so we understand pros and cons.

Ok, what you have to know about Domain separation is that
1) Its a large administrative burden &
2) Its irreversible.

Its meant for very specialized circumstances where a company has several other companies using their instance.  Thik MSP environments.  There's one or multiple levels of top down control, and then the child domains have various level of control over data, processes, and administrative tasks.

Its the kind of feature you don't want to implement unless you match the use case pretty specifically.
