Hello,
over multiple instances and projects, we are having issues in deploying Platform Analytics from Dev to other environments. Often times, the result dashboards are different between environments, despite following best practices for release.
As admins, Using Update sets we are often missing changes and widgets from dashboards, sometime containing duplicates of widgets. Often happens that adding either reports or filters into the library casuses the deployment to break.
We are looking for best practices or recommended process from Service Now, how to handle deployment of Platform Analytics, to prevent issues and differences between environments.
Thank you
Best regards
Pavel

Why not simply create dashboards and reports on PROD? That's where your data is and if you only share them after you are done, nobody even knows you are working on them.
The problem with reports and dashboards are that a lot of people can work on/with them. I have seen it happen very often that deployments through update sets are going wrong because somebody already updated a report/dashboard on PROD and the update set wants to override that.
Even though reports and dashboards are captured in update sets, you run very little risk creating them directly on PROD.
Please mark any helpful or correct solutions as such. That helps others find their solutions.
