reporting-opened vs created

Hi to All,

I would like to understand main difference between opened and created conditions? If I choose opened on last 2 years what will be and what will be if I choose created on last 2 years?

Hi Ulvi,

Opened and created a pretty close (especially when dealing with two year time spans.) Opened is the time when someone opened the form to start filling it out. Created is when the record was actually saved to the database.

If I opened a form at 11:02AM and it took 4 minutes to fill out the field, the created date would be 11:06. If you are looking for records in the last couple years, I wouldn't worry about which one you used in that case.

Thanks for your respond! So, as I understand if I will check for today then it will be useful to choose opened, but for the more time period its useful to choose created. Actually I will use it for this year or this months. I think created is correct in my case.

Hi Ulvi,

Yes, the more recent your report, the more significant the difference between Opened and Created will be. If I want a report of incidents Opened in the last hour, it could be different than those Created in the last hour since they are created some time (a few seconds or minutes after they are opened.)

If I run a report on records from records opened in the last year, and those created in the last year, it's not going to be significantly different (if at all) unless an incident was opened just before midnight a year and a day ago, and created just after midnight the following day.
