Content Library/Services in ITAM

Hi all,

What are ServiceNow's content library and services, and how will they help with software asset management?

Is there any plugin that we need to show this content service?

Please assist me if any one have any knowledge of this. Please share any links or documentation that will be helpful for me.

1.ServiceNow pushes content weekly to all ServiceNow instances, this ensures better normalization, and provides latest details such as lifecycle, license metric etc.

2.Please ensure that all the content is pulled into the instance to ensure the same

3. You can execute all scheduled jobs mentioned on the table->cds_client_schedule.list . Please note, that these will be executed on a scheduled basis as well

 

Content Services help to peform normalization that helps in standardizing software names that are discovered. In addition, important content information such as downgrade rights, lifecycle information are automatically added. This information helps in performing correct licensing

Thanks for the quick reply, Is there any documentation available that are explaining in detail about content setup like what is content library and what plugins needs to be installed etc.

Nag,

The Content Library is available in subscription-based products. HAM, EAM, SAM.  When those products are installed the scheduled jobs needed to download the data from the repository are created in an instance.
