How can I manually add a new type of computer peripheral?

Hello,

Our company has just started using Servicenow and I am relatively new to this system. I need to create a new type af computer peripheral like monitor or camera ... so that our inventory team can choose this in the asset form. See printscreen. This is a dropdown list. Where can I find this list to add a new item?

As I can see the type field in the screenshot, hence I assume this field is already present on the alm_hardware table. Now, right click on the Type field and from the drop down options click "Configure Choices". Add more options from here and all of them will be present as drop down choices in the Type field for your inventory team to select from.

I did what you described and this worked. The new type is finally visible in the asset form. Thank you so much for your help.

You'll need to create a model (most likely a consumable model). The model defines the manufacture, the asset tracking strategy (create Config Item too or not). The model will need to referene the model category of computer periphal that we are looking to use when creating the asset itself.
