Hello,
We've upgraded our ServiceNow instance to Yokohama release and prior to that, we already have these plugins installed (from Washington release):
- SAM Pro installation [com.sn_samp_master] - this plugin is for release prior to Yokohama
- SAM Workspace [com.sn_sam_workspace] - this plugin is for release prior to Yokohama
- SaaS License Management [sn_sam_saas_int]
- Publisher packs plugins
My questions are:
1. Is the master plugin included in our SAM Pro subscription, or it is a separate cost?
2. Is it best to proceed with the master plugin installation with all these other plugins already up and running in our instance?
3. What is the safest route to take with zero impact to: a) plugin versions, b) already-installed packs, and c) property settings overwrites?
Thank you,
Angeli

Installing the com.sn_samp_master_ws plugin should not impact any of the existing data or functionalities. We have done this in our setup and it did not impact any functions. Please test it in Non-Production environment first and migrate it to Production instance.
As mentioned, please discuss with your Account Management team and ServiceNow Representative for license entitlements before activating the plugins.

Hi Bhuvan,
Thanks for sharing the link.
Apart from the cost information, I would like to know the risks and possible issues if we install this master plugin [com.sn_samp_master_ws] on top of these: SAM Pro Master plugin + Workspace + SAAS License Management in Washington release.
Will it supersede the applications and its versions from the previous release?
Will it not affect other modules or tables outside of SAM after the installation?
I also would like to know if there are existing use case similar to ours that we could use for reference.
Thanks,
Angeli

Yes, just now our Apps team installed this in our lower instances and will check it further before promoting to PROD. I assume this "might" downgrade/upgrade some of the application versions related to SAM Pro, but we should be able to manually tweak it to align with our current setup.
Also, thanks for the additional information you provided and confirming that you have not faced any issues after your installation in your non-prod environments.
Thank you,
Angeli

@angediaz When you say master plugin, I am assuming you're referring to "com.sn_samp_master_ws" as you've mentioned that "com.sn_samp_master" is already installed.
What is "com.sn_samp_master_ws":
"com.sn_samp_master_ws" is just a wrapper plugin. Upon installing this plugin, it installs "com.sn_samp_master" and "com.sn_sam_workspace" automatically instead of customers installing these independently.
Here're answers to your queries:
1) No, it's not a separate cost.
2) If you already have com.sn_samp_master" and "com.sn_sam_workspace", you're not necessarily required to install "com.sn_samp_master_ws".
3) I am not sure if I understand your question. But with earlier explanation, I am hoping it also answers this question
