License position report

What is the use of license position report?

Why the list of publisher in the license workbench and license position report do not match? i mean why there are extra publisher in the license position report and why they are missing in license workbench dashboard?

 

I I have group by publisher in license position report.

Why there is inconsistent data?

My understanding is that the License Position Report consumes that same data as the License Workbench, so there shouldn't be any inconsistencies. The only thing I can think of is that following reconciliation, the results are immediately available in the workbench and may not be reflected in the License Position report until a later time, but like I say, I'm guessing here.

It appears that the License Workbench is grouping things by Publisher, and the License Position Report is grouping things by Model. That's why the numbers are different.
