License workbench showing result for non licensable models

Hello All,

We have some software model for MS SQL server with Developer edition which is free software. We made the filed License under management as false for some of the software models for this specific product SQL server. But still license workbench showing those software model result after reconciliation process. The product type is licensable for the SQL server product.

As per my understanding, if we uncheck the checkbox for license under management filed on SW models. It will not count that model in reconciliation process. but still, it is showing on license workbench.

Anybody has any idea??

Thanks,

Shivani

Hi @shivani42,

if your instance is already upgraded to W.DC, please use the following feature to exclude all editions (e.g., Express, Compact) from a central place. If not, please review and ensure that you've removed the LuM flag from all existing software models.

Product types can be updated on a product’s edition level using the Custom Product License Exception Rules [samp_cust_prod_lic_excep_rules] table. For cases where certain editions are non-licensable, the product type gets updated automatically if the exception rule is defined in the Product License Exception Rules [samp_prod_lic_excep_rules] table or the Custom Product License Exception Rules [samp_cust_prod_lic_excep_rules] table. However, if a product is non-licensable, an exception rule can’t be created for a licensable edition. For this case, you must raise a case with the Content Service team with supporting documentation and the team reviews whether the edition must be tagged as licensable.
