SAM - Publisher part number info

Community Alums
Not applicable

Hi SAM Experts,

CC: @Benjamin "Ben" Forrest

We have started implementation of SAM for a client, and for the first entitlement import in DEV instance, there are a lot of missing Publisher part numbers. It has only 7700 records as opposed to expected 100K.

Now, I read other community posts and found the reason to be sub-prod. However, is there a way to allow DEV to have these records? Has anyone faced this?

Let me know your opinions.

Regards,

Anurag Jain

Hi.

I believe you need to navigate to "Software Asset\Content Service Setup", and then opt in.  I'm doing this in non-prod instances (dev in my case) and have approximately 108K records in the "Software Product Definitions" table which contains publisher part numbers.

Thanks,

Ron

Hi,

We faced the same issue and read in one of the community posts that Non Prod environments are not updated as part of the daily job which sync all the SAM related tables. So it should be fine when you move this to PROD. For us also it was around the same number.

Hope this helps. Please mark the answer as correct/helpful based on impact.

Hi all,

we had the same issue in the beginning.

When you have enabled the Plugins in PROD, wait at least for 7 days for the Product table being populated. I did the same mistake , i enable the plugins and created custom part numbers. 7 days later, all Partnumbers where showing up , so i think its a matter of time to replicate from the Content library (after you opt in)

Hope this helps
