Since no documentation exists on this, i thought I had figured out how to do this but it does not seem to be working 100%. We have SnagIt, something we started purchasing decades ago so a lot of our licenses started at version 9ish. We maintained active maintenance over the years which entitles us to upgrades as they are released. Since the license workbench requires the licenses and the installs in the same "version" to reconcile and show compliant - what I did was create upgrade licenses to pull all of them forward from version 9 all the way to 2024, that and then ensured the software models all linked in Next version upward and downgrade rights all the way back. It mostly works - I see installs of 2021-2024 in the 2024 section of the workbench (about 89% of the total installs). And yet, I see an install of version 2021 in the 2023 branch of the workbench even though it and another computer from the 2024 branch relate to the exact same software discovery model.

Hi Christina,
Here's a great video (Understanding How Downgrade and Upgrade Rights Function - YouTube) that explains how to do upgrades for Microsoft Project and TechSmith Camtasia, the same principal will apply for TechSmith SnagIt. Hope this helps.
