Software Model Suites

Question on SW model suites.

  1. Wil the software install conditions applied on the Parent SW Model automatically apply to the Child SW Model? Or does this need to be setup individually on the Child SW Model?
  2. When an install is detected through DMAPs for the Parent Software Model, will this install count even if none of the Child SW model are detected with an install?

Hello,

1. No, the SW Install Conditions are considered on a model-by-model basis.

2. Yes. If the Suite Parent is found, the suite license is consumed.  If only suite component models are found, the "inference percentage" and the "suite relationship assumed" are leveraged to identify when to consume a suite license or individual product licenses.

Hello,

  1. It will need to be setup individually on child components as they are treated as separate models, linked only as suite components from the parent model.
  2. If a user-specified percent of child component software models are discovered on a device, it will count the parent software model. If it falls below that threshold, it won't consider the suite licensing. If none of the components are discovered (but the parent is), it will count the parent.

Thanks @Omeir Yusuf @Daniel Slocum

For 1, I guess it would be nice if there is an option to auto apply sw install condition on the parent to the child models
