archive rule for related list is not functioning

I have a rule to archive CI's on the hardware table.     Then I have a related list to archive the serial numbers related list if the CI is archived based on the criteria.     It is not working.   The CI is archived but the serial number is not.   Everything seems set up right in comparing to the WIKI but no results on the related list archiving.   Is there something I'm missing?

I'm doing this in my dev instance instead of the client's until I see it working.   Also the two other related list rules aren't working either and am just targeting the serial number table for now.

Any help is appreciated!

Does it have to be the Hardware table, or can you use the Computer (cmdb_ci_computer) table? In testing, I couldn't get the Hardware table to work either, but when I switch to the Computer table, it archives the related serial number.

On your Related Records, the Reference table rule is blank. You should populate that with the archive rule name, in this case - test archive. Then try it.

That did not work.     The CI archived as intended but the serial number did not that is sitting on the serial number table.

When I put the reference table rule of "test archive" that feels a little recursive since this archive is already on the archive rule.

I don't disagree, but when testing it last night, it worked when i added the reference table. If you look at the cmdb_serial_number table, the entries all have a Configuration item populated? and those CI's are being archived?

The CI is being archived is correct.   But I'm trying to also archive the serial number itself as well that is on the cmdb_serial_number tablel that is attached to the CI being archived.   I'm trying to archive any related CI's to the main CI (e.g. disks, serial numbers, etc.).   I was just starting with serial number to get the process down.   Did that make sense?       My expectations is that both the CI is archived as well as the serial number associated to it on the cmdb_serial_number table.

Thanks for your help.     I've tried so many alternatives and none seem to work.   Maybe I'm expected the archive process to work for related lists as described in the WIKI but it doesn't work.     P.S.   I get the same result in Fuji and Geneva
