Can we add images to the image library?

Our Knowledge Admin has asked us to add some images to the image library.   When a KB article is written, they want to be able to select this image from the Image field.

Is it possible to add images to this?   I tried adding them following these instructions but they aren't showing in the list, and conversely, I wasn't able to find any of the OOB images in the db_image list either.

In summary, we need to add our images to this (preferable to a new image directory rather than using /images/, sample-profile-photos, etc.)...

So that the KB article authors can select them from the Image field...

Is there any specific reason they use the image field? Quite frankly, unless your team is using v2 (or legacy) Knowledge Base those images will be of no value.

Hi Darla,

We are using Knowledge v3.   However, we do see images next to the returned articles in both the platform and the Service Portal.   My guess is that Knowledge Admin wants to be able to substitute those (at both the KB level and the article level), and thought he could do it with the Image field.   He's gone home for the day so I can't confirm that now.

Is it possible to customize those images (see screenshots below for examples)?

You can customize the images by going to Knowledge Base and uploading the icon you want:

Thanks, Darla.   That will allow us to customize the KB icon, but the KB Admin really wants to use custom icons for certain articles.   I will break the news to him...
