In an OOB instance, is there something preventing an individual with a custom role (not inherting other roles) from seeing and writing to the work notes field on the Incident record?
I created a read and a write role. It has my custom role requirement and no advanced script.
The work notes/comments field is added to the incident ESS view. However, my users with this custom role cannot see the field, much less write to it. Any idea what's blocking this access?

You can create your own write ACL for comments and work notes fields and provide custom role to your ACLs.

I have created both a READ and a WRITE ACL for this field as noted above. The field is added to the ess view form layout but the form field is missing when they are signed in.

Please turn on debug security rules to check which ACL is preventing access for these fields.

Eric - Do you see the field as read only or you don't even see the field? If you don't even see the field, i don't think it is an ACL issue. Are other users able to see / edit the field?
