Hi,
How can we identify that request is created from either catalog item or order guide.
Thanks

Please refer to the Helsinki documentation.
Request Item has a new column 'Order Guide' which gets populated with the Order Guide which is used to create the request.
Thanks

Unfortunately there's no way to do so OOB. Requests are blind to the mechanisms that create them. Basically what happens is a RITM (or RITMs) get created and then they're subsequently wrapped in the REQ. For that matter, RITMs don't even know what Order Guides created them, which is sad.

To piggy-back on Robert's comment, our admins faced a similar issue. They chose to add a field that indicates the source and that field would get set by the creation source. It is a bit of a hack but it works. Just has to become part of the standard development. I'm not necessarily promoting this design, just what is implemented at my current job.
Can you explain why you need to know? Maybe that would lead to some ideas?

Oh that's an easy one: To quantify consumption and measure performance against catalog stuff consumed. Unfortunately that's excruciatingly difficult with both Order Guides and Record producers.
