Hi All,

I am struggling to understand few things about Subscription Management module.

My purchased subscriptions = 47400 and allocated = 52093. I read documents as below

https://www.servicenow.com/content/dam/servicenow-assets/public/en-us/doc-type/success/quick-answer/...

https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=2ec183a9db98dbc01dcaf3231f96...

They says that : Unrestricted User Model ServiceNow inspects the [sys_user] table and filters for all users that are Active = "true" and have a User ID.

But when I go to user table and filter it by Active = True and User ID is not empty then I get 52141 records but in my subscription the allocated are 52093. So the difference is 48.

Query1

So, my worry is why the difference is there?

If allocated are 52093, where can I find those user directly under subscription management application who are using this subscription?

Query2

I didn't find anything about IH spoke? What is its usage?

Query3

Subscription Applications: I explored this related tab and opened Incident Management Application, what is the meaning of Requires Subscription?

Anything useful I can do with this related tab?

Query4

Custom Tables : I went through below link which explains about grandfathering but I seriously didn't get its working technically. Can anyone please give me a real-time simple example which could clarify the meaning of grandfathered tables.

Query5

Could anyone please explain where ServiceNow is maintaining this data? I mean where are they recording which user is using this subscription?

our organization purchased a subscription for the anticipated maximum number of users. Your ServiceNow instance auto-allocates active users with a valid User ID to this subscription. No action is required on your part.

for #1, I thought another criterion was where the users has logged on in the last year.  So if you add: Last Logon > 365 days ago, do your numbers match?

For #2, I believe this is the number of Flow Designer actions using a spoke.  Does the tab show you anything interesting about those 3?

for #3, Requires subscription is just trying to help identify which roles are mapped to a subscription and which are included with any subscription

For #4, Grandfathered tables are VERY specific to your unique contract with ServiceNow.  Potentially due to a product swap at the time of a renewal, you may have been granted a number of grandfathered tables.  You can identify which tables those are and then cannot be changed.  These would not count against your custom table count.  You would need to read your contract to ensure you have the correct number of grandfathered tables.

For #5, I am not sure where that is written, but I believe that this is simply the mapping of users (sys_user) to roles to determine how many users have access to a particular application.

Your ServiceNow account team may be able to help with account specific licensing questions as they are in the best position to understand your unique situation.
