What does "Reg:" mean in Knowledge Subscription Email Subjects?

The question is pretty straightforward.

For email subject lines such as "Reg: Article KB0013668 has been revised", what does "Reg:" mean?

Hi Chris,

it means Regular, basically it's an acronym set in the email notification body to say that this is a regular notification.

However, you can easily change the default body in the email template.

Hope this will fit your need!

1. What makes these subscription notifications "Regular" as opposed to any other notification? I haven't seen that prefix on any other email nor any mention of "regular" notifications in documentation or elsewhere.

2. These subject lines are defined in their respective Email Scripts, not the Notifications (or Email Templates)... we had decided against modifying these Email Scripts so we aren't impacted or limited by future updates. I would definitely like to change them though because if "Reg:" is unclear to me, it'll just be plain confusing for regular users.

You're right and I totally agree with you, i think it was something inherits from old versions, there is no any official documentation about that, however, as you said, make sense to change this acronym directly in the Email Script.

Cheers

Alberto

"Reg" is short for "Regarding".
