wildcard search is not working in knowledge search

I am trying to search in knowledge under self service application. When I use wildcard (*) it is not working. I tried the wildcard * before the keyword and after the keyword.

If I do the same search in global search it is working.

Someone help me to identify the issue. Thanks

In Contextual Search > Search Contexts > Knowledge Base Search there's an 'Enable wildcard searches' checkbox that may need to be checked.

To an extent. The "*" wildcard is supposed to act as a multi-character wildcard and "%" should be for single characters.

With normal words (in my example, "Genesys") it will find the article when I enter "Genesy*"   but it will not find anything when I enter "Genes*". Using the same logic, I entered all but the last character of the named Configuration Item (the "NC2PXWAS..." above) and used the wildcard "*" nd "%" but this yielded no result.
